BOW DOWN PEASANTS.
And I use a Model M, so I effectively deafened everyone within a two block radius of me.

no

ok, you don’t have to.

I'm usually around 80-85 wpm if I'm trying not to make mistakes. 105 is kinda nuts.

That’s usually around where I’m at, unless I’m going for speed.

Back when I had a Model M I hit 130 consistently with no mistakes as long as I was typing coherent sentences and not just bullshit random words.

Holy shit, you’re good haha.
My Model M is on the list of things that you’d have to pry out of my cold, dead hands.

And I use a Model M ,
Probably sounded like an MG42

Hahah, pretty close!

HAH. BEAT YOU BY ONE CPM ON A SHITTY DELL OEM KEYBOARD.

SHIT DAMN IT!
I would totally start a WPM war, but I’m tired.

Mine died from some hair gel getting on it and killing the section around the comma/period keys. I need another one in my life. I had a Lite-On mechanical but I sold it with my IBM PS/1 since it was the only AT keyboard I had handy.

I’ve got three of them, two broken and one working.
Unicomp sells them new still for pretty reasonable prices. American made also. I’d highly recommend one, they also have a warranty.

I would have been way better but I double-typed and had to backspace an entire word :/

Impressive. I always wanted a happy hacker (?) keyboard. The mechanical without keycaps. Those prices are really good on those Unicomps.

The HHKB Type-S ones I’d assume. They’re apparently really good, but the mechanical ones are really expensive. Just can’t justify that price (Like $300), but I’d totally have a fully black one with no legends if I could spend that much. Touch typing for the win, haha.

Looks like you can custom order one of those Unicomps without keycaps. I really want one with 24 function keys and blank keycaps.

Do it! You won’t regret it!

For some reason I thought the Unicomps were rather expensive. Tempted to get one to drive my roommate next year insane. As if my G710 wouldn’t already.
![]() 05/23/2016 at 22:02 |

Haha, you totally should get one.
I switch mine out when I need a quiet one, but most of the time it’s great.

I haven’t properly typed since like early high school. I'll take my 41 wpm of gibberish. When it comes to typing something I am thinking of on my own I can fire it out on my iPhone or iPad pretty easily. I get slowed down a bit when autocorrect tries to be auto incorrect.

That is probably what I would do. Get either a Unicomp or a Cherry MX Blue keyboard for most of the time and use my G710+ with browns when I want something a bit quieter.

Ah. At first glance thought it was your credit score and thought, “what’s that poor sod all enthused about?"

Noob.

107 wpm
edit: Did this on a crappy laptop keyboard with sticky keys.

Before I lost feeling I could type 101 WPM all day. I'm probably down in the 80s now :(
